Plastic bowls are everyday tableware made from food-grade polypropylene (PP); common names include "ribbed salad bowls" or simply "ribbed bowls." Their production must comply with national standards such as GB 4806.7-2016 to ensure they are free from harmful substances like Bisphenol A (BPA). When purchasing, check for proper labeling-such as product name, material, and manufacturer details-in accordance with GB 4806.1–2016 (*National Food Safety Standard: General Safety Requirements for Food Contact Materials and Articles*), and pay attention to the packaging, appearance, and odor.

Food-grade polypropylene (PP) is heat-resistant and considered a relatively safe material for plastic tableware. Compliant PP bowls often feature a snowflake-like matte texture on the interior, and the number "5" inside the triangular recycling symbol on the product indicates polypropylene (PP). Tableware made from recycled materials should be avoided. However, please note that microwave heating can cause the release of microplastics and nanoplastics into food; therefore, it is recommended to avoid using plastic containers for microwave heating.
